On July 26, 2024, Governor Chris Sununu signed an updated Safe Haven Law, HB 1607. It allows for parents of newborns up to 61 days old to surrender their babies anonymously. This includes places staffed 24-hours per day, like hospitals and fire stations and anywhere that has a Safe Haven sign on display. Under this law, parents cannot be arrested or information used against them for any criminal offense.
